Data Deletion Request

Effective: May 15, 2026 · Last updated: May 15, 2026

1. About this page

This page explains how you can ask Prince Tires to delete the personal information we hold about you, and how we handle that request. It applies to information collected through our website (princetires.ca), our store, our booking system, our wholesale portal, and through any Facebook or Instagram features we operate — including Facebook Login, Meta advertising, and our Facebook business page.

Your right to ask for deletion is part of the privacy rights set out in our Privacy Policy, which explains in full what information we collect, why we collect it, and how long we keep it. We recommend reading that policy alongside this page. Requesting deletion is always free of charge.

2. Information we may hold about you

Depending on how you have interacted with us, the personal information we hold may include:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, and mailing or service address
  • Your vehicle details and saved tire sizes
  • Your order history, service-appointment history, and invoices
  • Your customer-account login and saved preferences
  • Marketing-consent records and the emails or text messages you have exchanged with us
  • Website usage data such as IP address, device type, and pages viewed
  • Information we received from Meta if you used Facebook Login, messaged us on Facebook or Instagram, or engaged with our Meta ads — such as your name, the email on your profile, and the action that connected you to us

A full description of each category, and why we collect it, is in Sections 3 and 5 of our Privacy Policy.

3. How to request deletion

You can ask us to delete your personal information at any time. Choose whichever method is easiest for you:

  • By email (preferred). Send a message to info@princetires.ca with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". So we can find your records, please tell us the full name and the email address or phone number you used with us, and whether you want us to delete everything we hold or only specific information (for example, only your saved vehicle, or only your Facebook-connected data).
  • By phone. Call us at 403 452 4283 during business hours and ask to make a data deletion request.
  • In person. Visit us in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and speak to a member of our team.

You do not need to give a reason for your request. If you have a customer account, you can also review and remove most of your saved information yourself by signing in and editing your account.

4. Data connected to Facebook or Instagram

If your information reached us through Facebook or Instagram — for example, you used Facebook Login to sign in, or you contacted us through Meta — you can have that data removed in two steps:

  1. Disconnect the app. In Facebook, go to Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and websites, find the Prince Tires app in the list, and choose Remove. On Instagram, the equivalent control is under Settings → Apps and websites. This stops Meta from sharing any further information with us.
  2. Ask us to delete what we already have. Removing the app stops future sharing but does not erase information we have already received. To delete that, send us a request as described in Section 3 and mention that it relates to Facebook or Instagram.

We will delete the personal data we obtained through Meta within 30 days of confirming your request, and email you to confirm once it is done.

5. How we confirm your identity

Before we delete anything, we need to be reasonably sure the request is genuinely from you — this protects your account from someone else asking to erase your records. We may:

  • Ask you to send, or reply to, the request from the email address we have on file for you
  • Ask you to confirm a recent order number, appointment date, or other detail that only you would know

We will never ask for your password, your Social Insurance Number, or a copy of government-issued ID in order to process a deletion request.

6. Information we may need to keep

In most cases we can delete or anonymize your personal information in full. However, some records must be kept for a limited time even after a deletion request, because the law requires it or because we need them to protect against fraud. These include:

  • Invoice, payment, and tax records — kept for at least 6 years after the end of the tax year, as required by the Income Tax Act.
  • Marketing-consent records — kept for a limited period so we can prove we honoured your opt-out, as required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation.
  • Records we genuinely need to detect fraud, resolve a dispute, or meet a safety or warranty obligation.

Where we cannot delete a record straight away, we restrict it so it is used only for the legal purpose it is held for, and we delete or anonymize it as soon as that purpose ends. Anonymized information no longer identifies you and is not treated as personal information.

7. How long it takes & how to contact us

We will action your request and delete the eligible information within 30 days of receiving it and confirming your identity. If we need more time — for example, because the request is complex — we will tell you within that period and explain why. When the deletion is complete, we will email you to confirm what was removed, and note anything we were required to keep under Section 6.
